Down 40 lbs, off her medication, and loving being active again

Was diagnosed with lupus, and at the same time, I was going through menopause, and it really just changed so much of my life. And I was just kind of at a loss, and my body wasn’t functioning the way I knew that I needed it to function.

I think the biggest thing…my blood pressure medicine, as of today, I am gonna go off of it completely. So that’s huge.

For every pound that I lose is three pounds of pressure to my knee. I can fit my clothes again. I can do all the things that I was excited to be able to do, so I feel better. I have more energy.

We were down in Death Valley and did some rock scrambling, and it was fun. It was so fun.

When I first came on board, I was still dealing with a lot of inflammation in my knee. I couldn’t do things easily, and then my coach was just on it and was quick to come up with something that would give me a good workout, get my heart rate where it needed to be, and still kinda have fun with it too.

Having somebody who can be your cheerleader and that you can be accountable to has been really beneficial. Or somebody to just say, “yeah, you made a bad choice over there, but, you know, look at now you’re making all these good choices” and point out those things instead of allowing that internal voice to beat yourself up.

If you’re on the fence about wanting to start or not start, the longer you wait, it’s that much longer to get your arms wrapped around it. Thank you to the whole team here. I just…I love it.
