If you are like me, January seems to fly by so fast that I am never able to get started on all my "new year's" goals and projects until February...which means that there is a lot going on right now!

One of the most common goals for people in the new year is to update their diet...but with so much going on, a diet overhaul can feel quite daunting. That is why I put together a list of quick and easy recipes to help get you started without taking all your time.

The key to finding a quick but healthy meal is to focus on the main ingredients.

If you can find a meal that is based around a lean protein, a vegetable mix, and healthy fats, you are on the right track.

Now that you know the composition for your “perfect plate”, here is some recipe inspiration to get moving in the right direction!

We have compiled some of our favorite quick and easy, fat-burning recipes below:

1) Mango Salsa with Pan Seared Salmon

Add mango to anything and it's going to be delicious. This recipe takes salmon to a whole new level and it will take you 20 minutes (or less) from start to finish. Whip this up for dinner and make enough so that it can be your lunch the next day as well!

2) Kale Salad w/ Tahini Citrus Dressing

Here's a light and refreshing salad that's a perfect side dish! Add some grilled chicken or another lean protein and complete the meal for a lunch or dinner as well!

3) Whole30 Breakfast Bowl

This breakfast bowl is packed with protein. It will keep you full and energized throughout your day, giving you a boost with nutrients essential to every productive day!

4) Pork & Veggie Stir Fry

Low-carb and full of flavor? This pork and veggie stir fry takes all of 20 minutes to create for the whole family, or just yourself, to enjoy. Add spices and seeds accordingly, depending on personal preference!

5) Quick and Easy Guacamole

You can't ever go wrong with guacamole. This delicious recipe is good for every occasion!

6) Asparagus, Ham, & Lemon

A perfect side dish - dashed with ham and lemon, this asparagus brings a different spin on the traditional greens we eat. Pair it with a lean meat or your favorite fish and enjoy!

7) Spicy Asian Chicken Salad

Gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free AND low carb?  Sign me up!  This dish gives a kick to your palate while bringing an Asian taste to your dinner table.

8) Beef Kabobs w/ Dijon Vinaigrette

Who will pass up a delicious healthy meal with steak? This dish gives you flavor with peppers, onions and a delicious dijon vinaigrette to dip in!

9) Spicy Feta & Pepper Dip

Simple, full of flavor, and packed with spice. This dip is good for a side or to spread on other food items! All you need are a few ingredients, a blender, and an appetite for a yummy dip!

10) Eggs Baked in Portobello Mushroom

This recipe makes for a fun weekend breakfast, a different lunch, or even a vegetarian dinner - served with a salad! Enjoy!

Keeping Things Simple
