If you’re one of the over-50 crowd who thinks you’ve waited too long to get fit and into great shape, keep reading – there’s great news for you!
You've probably heard the old saying, "If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself." And it's sort of true. When you’re young, you think you’ve got all kinds of time to “get fit”…someday.
And now here you are, wondering if your window of opportunity has closed.
Download our Body Fix Guide and learn the exact steps you need to take to start getting results you want now.
Here’s the great news I promised…

That window is still wide open! There are untold numbers of Baby Boomers and Gen-Xers out there getting and staying fit, many probably older than you. Even some that are much older than you!
Let me give you some examples:
Ida Keeling was 102 in 2016 when she set a world record in the 100 meter race. No, that wasn’t her first race. She was 67 when she ran her first race. She’ll be 105 on May 15, 2020.
How about Paul Tetrick? He’s won more than 12 USA Cycling Time Trial Championships. Did I mention he’s 86?
Then there’s Willie Murphy, a 77 year old grandmother who says powerlifting is what gives her “a little edge in life”. In November of 2019, Willie had a confrontation with a potential home intruder…he wound up in the hospital. I’d say she definitely has more than a “little” edge.
Why Exercise is a Must

I could go on and on about all the folks over 50 that are doing amazing things, but you get the point. Now let’s talk about why exercise is so great. Here are my top 3 reasons:
1) Getting and staying active is what keeps you self-sufficient. It keeps your mind sharp and your body as healthy as possible.
Even if you have health issues (Ida Keeling has arthritis), they don’t have to prevent you from becoming more fit and healthy than you are right now.
Most exercise programs can be modified to take into account any limitations you may have. Not as mobile as you used to be doesn’t mean you can’t become more mobile in the future.
Like so many things in life, getting fit after 50 actually starts with your mindset.
Remember Henry Ford’s famous quote, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.”
It’s important you understand this – just because you have friends or family members who haven’t aged well does NOT mean you have to follow in their footsteps.
Getting fit, eating healthy, exercising…these are all choices you make and it’s these choices that determine your future. The most important exercise you can do is the one you will do consistently.
It needs to be something you enjoy, so you’ll continue doing it. And the list of possibilities is quite lengthy.

Walking or running, swimming or weight lifting, yoga, biking, dancing, tennis, golf...the options are endless. With so many choices, why limit yourself? Choose more than one. Swap them up. Keep it fun!
2) Exercise has a social aspect to it.
You meet, interact with, and get to know other like-minded people with similar goals. You’ll meet new friends, maybe even find an exercise buddy or accountability partner to travel the journey to health and fitness with you.
3) Exercise helps you move more freely while boosting your strength and balance.
Some exercises actually help decrease some of the effects of aging. In addition to building strength, lifting weights helps combat osteoporosis.
Dancing, biking, rebounding, yoga, tai chi, along with many other types of exercise, helps with balance, mobility and stamina. You really can’t choose a ‘wrong’ exercise. Anytime you exercise, your entire body benefits.
