Is it too late for you to get in shape?

Fitness

Have you ever felt like there are just certain activities that aren’t for you any more? Or worry that it’s been so long since you last were in decent shape that it might be too far gone to ever get back?

If so, you are not alone. A lot of people feel this way

But here is the truth, there is no such thing as too late. You can always be better tomorrow than you are today.

However, you also need to know that the longer you wait, the longer it will take to get your fitness back.

And this is where people usually shoot themselves in the foot. If you have not exercised in a long time or feel like you have “let yourself go,” it can be HARD to get back into it.

You don’t want to face the reality of your current state of fitness. It is easier to just not think about it.

The problem is that if you are not able to face your situation now, it is going to be even harder to face later. And while it is never too late, the road back to health, fitness, and activity will only get longer./span>

Don't Put This Off!

Let Your Past "Self" Go

The key then is to not wait. Not another year, month, or even week. Your body and your life depend on you getting moving now.

And the beautiful part about exercise is that you actually do not have to do much to start feeling better.

Just 2 times per week of 30 minutes of exercise can make a world of difference. You can start having more energy, more stamina, and fewer aches and pains.

And if you keep at it long enough, you will start to be able to do things that you haven’t done in years! More skiing, surfing, hiking, biking, running, gardening, playing, and more.

Once you get started, you will probably hit a mental wall. This happens when you come face to face with the difference between your current level of fitness and where you were the last time you were “in shape”.

This can be a hard pill to swallow. We all would love to just pick things up where they were, but your body is not the same anymore.

However, the quicker you can let that image of your past self go and just focus on where you are now, the faster you will start making progress.

When you compare yourself to a past version, you will either push yourself to do what you used to and end up hurting yourself, or you will get discouraged and quit.

When you work within your means, you build up slowly but steadily, and in a year's time, you will be in better shape than you have been in the last 5, 10, or even 15 years.

Fitness is just like the tortoise and the hare: slow and steady wins the race. .

Save Yourself from Yourself

If you are someone who has struggled to stick with programs in the past, either from hurting yourself or getting frustrated with your lack of progress, it’s time to save yourself from your own self-destructive habits.

It’s time to get a coach!

A coach not only can help make sure that the exercises you do are appropriate for your current fitness level, they will also help you stick with it when your motivation wanes.

And it will. It is hard to stay motivated day in and day out for month after month. And yet consistency is the most important thing when it comes to you getting back in shape and staying in shape for the rest of your life.

And that’s what we are really talking about here. Making sure you have the health and fitness you need to fully enjoy the rest of your life.

Let's Review...

It is not too late to get in shape...ever. But this does not mean that you should wait to make your health and fitness a priority.

If you wait, the road back will only get harder.

The good news is that you don’t need to overhaul your life to start getting back in shape.

Working out just a couple times per week and making a few simple diet changes can have a dramatic impact.

The problem is that it can be hard to get started, and even harder to stick with a program.

That is where having a coach can help.

We’ll help make sure you’re setting off on the right foot, avoiding injury, protecting your joints, and building your strength and stamina.
