#1 Way to Get Stronger When Recovering from Injury (Part 1)

When faced with injury, especially when on a health or fitness journey, you might find yourself asking the following questions:

What will happen to the progress I made? Was it all for nothing? What if I can’t get back to where I was?

What if I can’t reach my goals?

The first step is to take a deep breath. Injury is stressful, jarring, and painful; adding more panic is only going to slow down the healing process.

Next is to take the necessary steps to move toward recovery. That can look like surgery, physical therapy, rest, or other forms of recovery. But then what?

It can be tempting to try to dive into movement again, hitting the gym and going right back to exercises that your body may not be ready for.

Instead, especially if you are suffering from range of motion issues or pain, talk to your doctor or physical therapist about trying these isometric exercises, aimed at helping you strengthen and recover muscle groups that need more care while recovering from injury.

Once you’ve mastered these exercises, keep an eye out for our next video filled with more exercises to help you recover from injury and build back those muscles so that you can move closer to your goals!
